Strengths of Extracts
The potencies, or strengths, of herbal extracts are generally expressed in one of two ways. If they contain known active principles, their strengths are commonly expressed in terms of the content of these active principles. Otherwise, the strength is expressed in terms of their concentration. For example, tinctures are typically made at a 1:5 concentration. This means that one part of the herb (in grams) is soaked in five parts liquid (in milliliters of volume). This means that there is five times the amount of solvent (alcohol/water) in a tincture as there is herbal material.
A 4:1 concentration, on the other hand, means that one (1) part of the extract is equivalent to, or derived from, four (4) parts of the crude herb.
We are respresenting Sudden Bliss as an 8:1 concentration. As you can see, the nomral concentration is 1:5. (1 Pound of herbs to each 5 gallons, yielding a very diluted, and weak extract). In Sudden Bliss, the ratio is 8 pounds of herb material to each gallon. This yields a highly potent extract, which is almost unheard of in the herb industry. If you go to your local health food store, and look at the herbal products, you will find it difficult to find any product that uses even a 2:1 concentrate, let alone an 8:1 concentrate, as we use.
Also, to enhance our potency, we extract specific herbs in our formula at even a higher ratio, to accentuate the effect of these special herbs, as they have unique and extraordinary functions in the formula. Some herbs in Sudden Bliss may be extracted at ratios as high as 15:1. This process is highly labor intensive, and expensive, which is why no one in the herb industry utilizes a ratio this high. And And sometimes at 15:1, it is virutally impossible to yield a liquid extract, as the end product thickens, and almost become gelatinous, and solid. This is why only specific herbs in the formula may be extracted at this high of a ratio, while the others are extracted at 8:1. Therefore, our extract is at the highest possible level so as to allow an end product that is in a liquid form.
Much of our extraction process is proprietary, and has been refined after many years of research and development..
The end result is a sublime product, that is extremely powerful in function and effect.
